As organizations transition to the cloud, simplifying access and improving security remain critical goals. And to help organizations make progress on them, we’ve made a significant change to RSA® ID Plus C1, our cloud-only identity and access management (IAM) solution. Specifically, we’ve removed the application limit, making it easier for organizations to use Single Sign-On (SSO) to securely access their tools and applications through RSA My Page.
This decision stems from extensive market research and customer feedback, which highlighted the importance of flexible, scalable access solutions in the cloud. Our conversations with customers revealed that by removing the previous SSO limit, they could fully embrace a wider range of cloud technologies and maximize the benefits they receive from SSO. We were happy to make the change.
The barriers to SSO adoption, particularly among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), are well-documented. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has published a recent report, “Barriers to Single Sign-On (SSO) Adoption for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses,” which provides an in-depth analysis of these issues.
According to the CISA report, many SMBs struggle with the costs associated with SSO solutions, which are often bundled with premium enterprise services. These costs can be prohibitive, especially for smaller organizations. Additionally, the technical expertise required to implement SSO can be a significant hurdle, leading many businesses to rely on manual password management methods, which are less secure and more cumbersome.
By eliminating the application limit, we aim to remove these barriers and provide a more accessible, cost-effective solution for organizations of all sizes. Cost, technical hurdles, and a lack of awareness and resources shouldn’t stand in the way of any organizations trying to use SSO, particularly SMBs. We’ve seen just how valuable SSO can be in reducing the attack surface and empowering users, which is why we’re putting our money where our mouth is and making it easier to use our solution across even more applications.
My Page, our access solution, offers a streamlined, user-friendly interface that allows users to manage their access to multiple applications with a single set of credentials. This not only enhances security but also simplifies the user experience, reducing the administrative burden on IT departments.
Nour Khattab, RSA’s Senior Advisor for Pricing and Packaging, emphasized the impact of this change: “Removing the application limit on ID Plus is a significant step towards making secure access solutions more accessible to all organizations. We understand the challenges SMBs face, and this change is part of our commitment to support their journey to the cloud with flexible and scalable solutions.”
Our decision aligns with CISA’s recommendations to support SMBs in adopting SSO by offering solutions tailored to their needs. By removing the application limit, we are ensuring that our cloud-only IAM solution can scale with our customers’ needs, providing the flexibility and security necessary for cloud environments.
Kenn Chong, Consultant Product Manager at RSA, highlights the importance of this change: “At RSA, our mission is to empower organizations of all sizes by breaking down barriers to secure access. We’re delivering a solution that adapts to the unique demands of SMBs, ensuring they can scale securely as they grow and innovate in the cloud.”
Furthermore, we continue to provide robust support and resources to help organizations implement and manage their SSO solutions. Our comprehensive training materials, customer support, and professional services are designed to assist organizations in overcoming technical challenges and maximizing the benefits of our IAM solutions.
At RSA, we are committed to helping organizations navigate their cloud journey with secure, scalable solutions. By making it easier to use SSO through RSA My Page, we are enabling organizations to securely access their tools and applications, enhancing both security and productivity.
